1960s Mid-Century Modern Italian art glass vessel designed by master artisan Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d'Arte (Murano, Italy). Functioning seamlessly as a table ashtray, catch-all (vide poche), or standalone desk sculpture, this piece represents peak 20th-century Venetian glasscraft. Craftsmanship & Technique Executed in the iconic Sommerso (submerged) technique a painstaking process of layering molten colored glass to create vivid optical depth without color bleed. A rich, jewel-toned deep magenta/cranberry red interior bowl suspended inside a subtle yellow-amber transition halo, encased within a substantial layer of heavy clear glass. Features a heavy geometric square-block / cube outer form with smooth, clean-cut facets that act as a prism, contrasting against a soft, rounded U-shaped interior basin. It's in excellent condition free of any chips, cracks, or scratches.
