1970s Set of 4
1970s Exceptionally rare and highly sought-after set of four modernist travertine anteater sculptures, designed by the legendary Italian maestro Enzo Mari and produced by F.lli Mannelli in the 1970s. While Mannelli's broader travertine animal series is celebrated among mid-century collectors, finding the complete family of anteaters in these specific graduated dimensions is extraordinarily uncommon. Carved from solid, beautifully porous Italian travertine, these sculptures perfectly embody Mari's genius for distilling natural forms into their most essential, geometric, and elegant silhouettes. The warm, earthy tones and organic, unpolished texture of the stone beautifully complement the minimalist design. Whether arranged together in a procession on a coffee table or displayed on a curated bookshelf, this charming family set serves as a striking example of 1970s Italian modernist design. The items are in excellent conditions. Not easy to find this set. Made in Italy.
