Alexander Calder
Calder Alexander. - American sculptor and painter (Philadelphia 1898 - New York 1976), one of the most original contemporary artists. In Paris he elaborated his first abstract constructions. The works of C., while evoking a fairy-tale world of unknown plants, insects and animals, actually symbolize the dominion of the imagination over physical laws.
