Tobia Scarpa

Tobia Scarpa, Italian architect and designer, was born in Venice in 1935, where he graduated in architecture (IUAV) in 1969. A multifaceted and curious designer, in his long professional career he has dealt with architecture, restoration, set-ups, design, graphics, teaching . Since the 1960s he has established himself as a protagonist of industrial design, through the collaboration with a number of important Italian and international companies, including Molteni & C and Unifor. Numerous international awards, in 2008 he was awarded the Compasso d'Oro for his career. His works are exhibited in numerous museums around the world and monographic exhibitions have been held in Milan, New York, Chicago, Toronto, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Bordeaux. The publications dedicated to him in national and international journals and his monographs are considerable.
