Aldo Londi
Aldo Londi (Montelupo Fiorentino, 1911-2003) was a tireless narrator of feelings and intuitions. A life turned to art: painter, sculptor and above all ceramist. In 1946 Londi enters the Cav. G. Bitossi & Sons. A happy partnership that will see him as a protagonist for more than fifty years, first as artistic director from 1946 to 1976, then as a tireless collaborator.
Londi blends tradition and contemporaneity to create a modern product. His natural predisposition to research allows him to undertake courageous explorations and define a new expressive lexicon, finding support and stimulus in the continuous experimentation he initiates with the chemical laboratory of the Colorobbia color factory.
His professional competence and artistic sensitivity were, however, extraordinary prerogatives to start collaborations with designers and architects such as Ettore Sottsass, Remo Buti, Marco Zanini, Matteo Thun, and many others
